The bass bite is very slow, only managed to catch them on senkos. Ended up resorting to catching the big bluegills swimming around. Last year I caught 40, but today was only 9, majority of them were bluegills.

The water is green with visibility around the 3-4ft range. There was some small bass cruising around, but they wouldn’t even bite. The bluegills would be aggressively feeding during low light, they even started nipping the sinkers on my drop shot rigs. No crappie in sight, did see a small school of shad.

All the bass are very skinny, the biggest was about 17in but only 1.4 pounds. Barrett fishing is very tough at the moment, hopefully it improves next year when I come back.

Did you only fish off the dock or were you mainly on a boat?
