Now I Believe It - San Vicente Jun 12th

Last week after a year of forced hiatus, I finally got out fishing and had a good day. But it only gets better, because this week I got to share it with and old friend. Like last week, it was a short day of about 3 1/2 hours. I always feel pressure to catch some fish when someone goes with me, but the two of us have been out together enough to realize there are good days and bad days. Fortunately, this was one of the good days, not wide open but a good steady pick. We had a nice mixture of redear, bluegill and bass. We think we wound up with 21. No secrets, just hang half a night crawler on and let them find it. It was overcast and calm.

Last week @Fisheromen commented on the old wooden ruler I sometimes use to give perspective. If I keep going to San Vicente, I may have to find a longer ruler.

I know you would be disappointed if we didn't show the fishermen:

Just for the record, I do carry a flexible cloth tape made just for measuring fish. Officially the bad boy in the picture was 13.5" long with a girth of a full 15", weight was 2lbs 6ozs.

There are some monsters in there. Other then the Colorado river chain, the size of panfish are under 12" in most places. We have a Jewell.
I will be out sharpening by skills next week. ( I have a ways to go) I'm glad its a life long hobby.

San V has the best trophy redear and SE strain bluegill potential IMO.

They are only going to get bigger as they have discovered the Quaggas are great food for them. Soon 4 pounders and bigger than that in the coming years. They get so fat they swim funny but still fight hard.
