Hit the Surfline below 50th street and down to the first Groin during the Slack Tide around 7:15 am. I found 3 deeper Holes within casting distance and pulled 3 Halibut out of one of them. 3 in Five casts by the way. That can really turn on the numbers if it keeps up, but that was it. I found a wide open bite with limited Fish. The first Two were “Chips” vicious but dinky Flatfish with big appetites. My Five inch Swimbait looked like a mouthful for them. The last one hit like a snag and then there was a head shake. The big Ones do that. I was excited by a real Fish for a few seconds. The hard fight only lasted a few seconds and then a spirited battle for an 18 inch Hallie. Really, twice the size of the first two but still not what I was looking for. Before I knew it my spot was getting farther out as the Tide brought back the angry Ocean, some 6+ foot waves thrilling the Surfers outside the sandbar and nailing me with some high speed wash. Breakfast at Cappys’ rounded out the morning, Amanda was a great Waitress today.
