Fee free fish

Cap and the fresh water’s been fun, but I decided to close to home today. I honestly had a bit of a rough session to start. Forgot my trolling motor battery at home, so had to put in the workout on my tube today. Then got on the water and realized I forgot my sunglasses in the car. To top it off, I had a very frustrating experience with some pleasure boaters. Just ripping through shallow waters reserved for small craft without a care in the world! Finally yelled at, and waved them down to get them to stay in their dedicated zone.

All the factors contributed to quite an off day, so I was ready to put the session to its end and get on with my day. I was dragging/popping a 3” ned bait on a swinging jig head in the shallows on my kick back, and got absolutely hammered. As the drag was peeling, I had no clue what it could be. I definitely lucked out, as it turned out to be a 24” corvina! I had thrown a lucky craft earlier, knowing they could be around, but who would’ve thought a ned rig would do the trick! :D

Absolutely turned my day, and weekend around. Time for some tacos!

Congratulations! Love the taste of corvina! They are great fighters. The last one I caught hit a kastmaster at dawn near the Cays, shore fishing. There was enough light for me ro see 2 corvina chasing the lure at that moment.

Haha, I mean it’s delicious, right up there with halibut.
