South Mission 3/31

Post by Perch killer »

Dead sea conditions this morning, like a lake. Knee high surf, clean water but little movement, hardly any swell. Not a nibble for an hour then a good bite for a hand size perchie on a dried lug. Problem was only had 1 more worm left in the pack. Should have re-supplied, aargh! Went to gulp camo, then mussel & hbb offerings. Not even a nibble over next hour. A couple of other anglers on the beach as well but did not see anyone pull anything in. Totally dead so packed it in at 8:30 but at least beat the skunk.

Bill went yesterday at MB. Caught 1 8" perch but that was it. I did see a 24" Corbina Frolicking in the surf. Was right in front of me for 2 minutes. Mike got 2 but things were slow. Over by T12

Maybe the same corbina I saw getting a lift from the osprey yesterday. 😆

Wild how small the waves are right now! Cool to see, not so great for fishing. On the positive side, you didn’t use all your lugworms on finger size baby perch 😂
