Nice conditions this AM notwithstanding a fairly strong surge from the SW swell. I'd like to think it was responsible for the lethargic activity. Just a lot of taps & bait stealing from dinks in the nursery. Could not get a decent hit on mussel meat, dried lugs nor Gulp sand worm. Picked off a couple that I could hardly feel on the hookup. Only decent bite was on a HBB 2" grub for a 9 incher. Lot of sc beds starting to appear but just BB & pellet size, too small to get on a hook. Soon hopefully.

Thanks for the report! Sounds like tough bite conditions in dink city.

Got guitarfish, small ray, and legal hali on Torrey Pines today, everything on LC 110.
Guitarfish was pulling like a freight train, took good 5 minutes of fighting to land.

Congrats on the legal and other critters. I may try Black's tomorrow. Yesterday afternoon I saw many deep pockets along a wide stretch during low tide.

All the nibbles/bites and no hookups has certainly been a bit frustrating lately!! So much false hope

Received a report yesterday that a lot of sand crabs of all sizes are being found along Tamarack to the north of Carlsbad State Beach...

Shouldn't be long before they start carrying eggs and begin to lose their shells...game on!
