Agreed on conditions. Pretty calm as the morning high tide receded. Little bit of a northward current but it didn’t seem persistent or even all that strong. I was trying to walk it a bit so that kept it very manageable.
I caught 12 perch, although aside from one relatively large walleye and 2 BSPs that could only very generously be described as medium, they were all really tiny. Lugworms, mussels, and Gulp camo worms were all working well but all were attracting only the little guys. That has definitely been a pattern lately and it’s been a little while since I’ve caught anything worth turning into lunch.

My main problem was jinxing the whole outing by being prepared to bring fish home. I met Kevin from Honey Badger baits in the Plunge parking lot after he wrapped up. Will meet up with you one day!Have not used the chrome and orange yet, I fished the chrome and blue that has caught me a lot of perch this year. You need to find a middle ground. I bring a small cooler that makes it tough to fit corbina or YFC in, and someday I’ll have to fold a legal halibut in half to bring it home. But if that cooler was any bigger I’d never catch a thing. This way, I’m prepared but not TOO prepared. I pretty much am a C&R guy... Too much hassle to take them home... I do carry a large heavy duty trash bag in my vehicle... I did use it once to take a keeper halibut home... I just stopped at the 1st convenience store, and bought a bag of ice and spreed it over the fish, in the bag...
