Lew Mach II reel service

Anyone know where I can send in or drop off for servicing my 4 year old Lew baitcaster Mach II, it hasn’t been serviced since I got it four years ago but hasn’t given me any issues.

I figured it’s a slow time and might as well get it done and I’m not very mechanically minded and don’t have the patience plus I know I’ll be missing a part or find one item after putting it together and find a screw that didn’t go back in lol.

I’m thinking may be it might need new bearings but it could just by needing a good clean up and re-oiled.

Assuming the parts are all good, what’s the approximate repair bill cost?

Reel Tweeks has very good reviews. Still, it is not difficult to service yourself with some patience, a digital camera, light oil and grease.

• Take a photo before and after your remove each component.

• Thread the handle nuts, washers, etc onto a screwdriver or something similar to maintain orientation and order

• Clean each component as you remove it

• Add grease on metal to metal parts like screws and metal gears

• Add grease to bearings that are not in-line with the spool

• Add light oil to bearings that are in-line with the spool

• Add light oil to the levelwind worm gear

• No need to lubricate plastic to plastic, but it doesn't hurt

Or just open your wallet and spend $50 or so for shipping, parts and labor and have someone like Reel Tweeks do it for you

Most reel service places I've seen have a base service charge of $40. Then any parts that need to be replaced will add on the cost. Any of your local tackle store should provide reel service, but wait time might be long. There's other's that provide the services, but you'll need to eat the cost on shipping the reels back and forth. Only really worth it if you have a ton of reels that need to be services.

alantani.com provides a lot of references on reel maintenance and youtube is a great resource. The only thing you need to get is some Cal's drag grease and TSI321 lubricant. Also, if you're already servicing it, you could always upgrade the spool bearings to ceramic bearings.
