Did anyone notice a fly fisherman fishing mission beach lately?

I see them from time to time. Very rarely in the winter though. Most of the sightings are sight fishing beans when they are up on sand crabs

I recall a fly fishing group being at south Mission Beach sometime over the summer. Not 'lately' though and certainly not often.

I saw a guy fly fishing about a month ago. I talked to him a little bit.

I have fly fished mission beach 3 or 4 times this winter, always first thing in the morning… went last Saturday by Santa Clara (tower 19)… been getting 4 to 6 perch each time. Biggest one was 11 or 12”, lots of smediums and very few micro ones

that's probably my coworker lol. he moved here from trout country and only fly fishes. I been giving him tips on how to fish the bays because he kept skunking. Maybe he should just stick to surf, seems to be more action in surf this season.
