Been away at college for a couple months was wondering how dixon, murray, and skinner are doing right now. Hoping to grind with some big baits this winter break.

@Dannicus might
be able to give you some more insight on Lake Murray.For me it has been mostly small bass
lately at Murray. I was catching them down deep blades and other winter baits, but recently (Dec. 8)there was some action up near the surface with small bass chasing shad. The warmer weather may have stirred things up a little. There was a recent trout plant last week so there might be some better action with some big baits if you have more patience than me. :-) Tight lines to ya.
Not sure about the other lakes you mentioned

I caught a couple of 3's and 4's at Murray last week. Mostly it's been clones. I don't fish swim baits much, but my bigger fish have come off the bottom in around 15 ft. of water moving my jigs very slowly. As Vinny said, the DFG stocked 600 lbs of small trout last week so swim baits might be a good option.

I can't speak to Dixon or Skinner. Otay has been tough for me, and El Cap has been a bit hit and miss. All depends on the day I suppose.

Skinner is closed to boat until end of January I have been told. Bank fishing only
