Shakespeare 4000 reel on a Shimano 6 foot rod.

Pm me with the model and I'll return it.

If no one claims, I will sell it OBO. NLIKWIG!

Fished around the Cays Tuesday, stuck with the channels.

Got 17 spotties, as well as two of these.

One of these. It was within an inch (one way or another) of legal.

Caught fish on homemade baits....chatterbaits....

...ScorcherZ tube baits, underspins, and ball heads with 4 inch grubs. The fish seemed to like less sparkly plastics today. Green and red plastics, rather than the chartreuse bits. And ScorcherZ-wise, it was all about the green leadhead in a clear tube...note the pics.....

The other guys went farther north and did much better than I did, focusing on the edges of the channel, and in the weeds.

Bass, halibut and a needlefish for the other guys.

Between the three of us (see what I did there?) the total fish count was ...who knows? Dozens, or maybe a hundred.

I did find one congregation of spotties in the channel and was getting bit on every other cast. However, the hot spot was next to a dock... the fish knew exactly what to do...and I lost three lures to an oyster-covered piling. Lost a fourth lure to a fish that took off like a rocket into open water and broke the line. The bite was ON for a half hour...and only landed one fish.

The spotties were larger than the usual south bay winter rats...most of mine were between 11 and 14.773 inches.

Gotta love the king tides....

 .... Using a micrometer?... It looked like a fun day... If that rod & reel are as bad as they look, I'm not claiming them. ;) ...
