10/8 Murray...oh yeah!

Hit Murray with my buddy Joe this morning. The surface was basically dead as did not see any busters so it was soon worm time. Using a variety of worms, creature baits, flukes. etc., we picked up some clones here as there as it was a little later morning bite. Missed a few bites comes along with the territory and then before leaving, I wanted to hit one more area. There was a lot of grass in many areas we fished and usually I use lighter baits, senkos, creatures etc. It was funny as I just got done telling Joe, "why am I fishing with a Texas rig, in all this grass?" and then a minute later felt a bump what I assumed was another clone, but after the first jump, I knew it was not a clone and going to be a fight. Finally got her in and thought she was bigger at first as she had a huge mouth and head but slimmer body. Anyway, still very happy as she weighed 7.25lbs. Otay was closed today so there was at least 8 other boats out there.....(6 too many for McFish)...and there was one cool guy fishing out there in a float tube....that was you Dan!
Don't want to bore you guys with pics of clones
so here are just a couple...
Anyway...this bass weighed 7.25lbs and held it too close to the camera..sorry about that. At least I am honest about the weight despite the way the pic makes it look...

Hey man that was my fish. Stop hogging up all the biguns'! You did better than me. All I could muster was 5 all in the 2 pound range. Had a pretty nice jig fish on early, but it broke me off. Bummer. Good to see you as always Vinny.

Hey Dan....it is always great to see you out there on the water. You are truly one heck of a nice and down to earth guy and also one hell of a great bass fisherman! Tight lines always buddy.

Looks huge in that pic! I would have used a wide angle lens and held it even closer. LOL
That's a 10 pounder next spring. Way to go!!
The lower jaw on that fish makes it look even bigger!

After that first jump, I kept thinking this fish
is gonna be 8 or 9 pounds easily after seeing it
come out of the water on the first jump. I
mean,it had a big head and then after finally landing it, I could tell the body was a little
slimmer than normal. I wish I could’ve caught it during the spawn… but still very happy to he
able to land it.

You can tell it is not an old fish on it's decline. It will definitely be a butter ball during the spawn. Unfortunately the word is out in the underwater bass community about how skilled you are as an angler and she will not be biting any of your baits=D Hahaha

You had me in stitches, talking about the underwater bass community. Anyway…That’s why I always switch baits so often to hopefully fool some of them into biting…. Ha ha.
