I didn't get on the water till mid-morning and stayed out about 3 hours. Only managed 4 small fish all on topwater. The wind was blowing, and I was walking a Gunfish through the choppy water in bright sunshine. Not ideal topwater conditions, but I couldn't get them to hit anything else I threw.
But hey, it's hard to beat topwater blowups, so I am not complaining.

Way to get them on the top! I have had some of my best topwater days at San V in mid day with chop on the water. Old Lake still had Threadfin. Sometimes I would work a walking bait 12 inches or less from the bank and they would go up and grab in. If I moved it further from the bank no takers.
Got to love the LuckCraft Topwaters.

Getting any bass on topwater in not ideal conditions is not easy…and you caught some which is pretty darn good. It takes lots of perseverance especially with the wind blowing while tossing those small light baits trying to entice a bass to bite. Anyway, thanks for sharing and tight lines always buddy.

Yeah man, even when they aren't visibly busting I have found that they will often cruise the shoreline looking for an easy meal. Sometimes twitching a small walking bait, or walking it with some pauses seems to be the ticket.

I was there Tuesday with my pontoon but surprised I didnt see you. I fished the rocks by the aereator for 3 dinks on a ned with hula twin tail. There was no one there at all by the time I left when wind made my pontoon into a sailboat.

I saw a different guy there with a pontoon. We chatted for a bit as we were both leaving. Sorry I missed you. I got there a bit late and only put in a few hours.
