As a trucker I travel to Utah every week. I almost always have a Bass rod with me but have always wanted to try some trout fishing in the various streams/ rivers I pass by every week. This is my report.

I'm assuming that in Utah, you're staying on the 15 corridor or do your travels get to see other parts? That's pretty cool that you can access so much different water while you're working. I've only driven through on the way to Yellowstone, but I know I have a few waypoints east of Salt Lake City (Provo, Weber) but have never made it out there.

Current's a b*tch, ain't it? It can sweep your bait out of the zone, and your bait never gets to the fish. Try an in-line spinner next time. My favorite is Panther Martin.

Hi guys, took that journey from cal to Colorado. Stopped right off the 70 at Fremont Indian park. The stream was loaded with cutthroat. Used little spinners.

Get yourself a tenkara rod! Those cutthroats love a dry fly and they're cheap and easy to use. You can also throw weighted nymphs too and the rod collapses down to a small stick. There's a lot of tenkara videos on youtube from that area. Also, if you want, I don't know if you could get your truck up to the trailhead, but I know a hike in grayling pond with a tiger trout pond along the way out there. If I were in your shoes, I'd get a scooter or even better, a dual sport bike you could keep on your truck and access smaller areas to increase my adventure capabilities!
