Um, $185 for a boat now through Ticketmaster? I think it was just $105 last time I bought a ticket.

Am I seeing it correctly?

Yep. The price has gone way up, but if you compare to renting a boat from another lake, it’s still less money.

Don’t forget $45 for your guest now as well.

Renting the same 16ft boat from the other SD lakes($100 all day)is still cheaper than Barrett. And the fishing permit is only $8 compared to $45 for Barrett. But we all still pony up the extra cost to fish and actually catch double, triple numbers of bass that you can't at our local lakes. Count down now starting for next year opener, see you all till next year. Thank you Barrett.

They are getting new boats, city taking over. $185 plus $45 a person, that won't last.

Copy that, skipper!

Any forecast on possible new pricing for 2026?

I’ll say $200 for a boat and $50 per person and my floater buddies it’s $65.00 extra body is $50.

Yeah, wait until they figure out Willingness to Pay (WTP) and supply and demand, and realize they can make even more profit, without having to shell out a dime.

They get some eager fresh-out-of-college-with-an-economics-degree-focused-on-efficiency-type guy working for the City of San Diego, who figures they can still charge $500 and still sell out the month of May and June, some of us may be priced out.

:-D
Essentially, the individuals who help sell out Barrett within 10 minutes of tickets going on sale, are the ones that are causing these price increases.

Remember, the free market will charge whatever the public is willing to pay. If they see that even at $200, the vast majority will still sell out, it'll be $250 the next year, until they find that happy number that maximizes profit. Some of us will now become the 'have nots' in this grand scheme.

Capitalism baby!
