Well another local body of water with no lifetime skunk for me. This one took me 4 trips and every one was filled with optimism, the place looks so fishy...anyway here are some examples...nothing big but feels good to wash the skunk off...

I’ve only been there for 2-3 short morning sessions so far, but hadn’t really had any bites or action. Threw a frog there the other morning for a little bit and was pleased to get 1 bass to take a swipe, he just didn’t get a good eat. Now I just gotta go back again and finally break my own personal skunk there 😂

Discovered (pun intended) that pond as a teenager several decades ago before the development. Fished it once, thought it was going to be a honey hole. Not even a bite, didn’t see a single fish. Guess no one had thrown any in there yet. Or I just skunked.

Nice work man, nothing better than finally shaking that skunk. Those little ones close to shore on senkos always save the day. Place really does look like it should hold some big ones too—bet it’s just a matter of time before you hook into one.

Would be a nice lake to float tube if that was allowed (it's not).

Since you are in that neighborhood, do anything to get on Lake San Marcos. Fished it regularly through the 90’s and later and had many a Barrett-like day. We had friends that lived there tho, which is pretty much the ticket.

Thanks, maybe I will have to find a new friend!

Tough Fishery for me. Glad to know there's a chance for a couple.

Back in the day, early 2000s, it was not a bad little lake at all. Back then there was no rules enforced about rafts or float tubes, so I had a blast catching bass and bluegill out on the water. Not big numbers or any outstanding size, but it was definitely worth a trip over there after work.

You can still usually get a couple there and maybe double digits on a great day, but the video-game fishing of the 90s (and surely prior) are gone.

Have had some epic panfish days there with my kid over the last couple years, big bluegill and anf the occasional crappie.

Always wondered if its still as hot. There were mornings or evenings in the 90’s when a 3/8oz chartreuse spinnerbait would catch em one cast after another. You could watch them come up to whack em. And a solid 2-3lb average size too.
