Since my home lake is closed tomorrow, I got permission from Mr. Vinny to fish his home lake today! I guess it's partly my lake since I've been fishing it since 1963...! The latest fish reports haven't exactly been glowing, so I wasn't expecting much...big mistake! I got on the water at 5:45, got off the water at 12:45...ended up with 37 fish, up to 4.9 lbs. Vinny loves to harass me about my finesse fishing, but I definitely got my revenge today! I went ultra finesse today and had non-stop topwater up until getting off the water! It also helps to know the lake and where the fish migrate during the day. It was nice having cloud cover most of the morning, which kept the fish near the top! I never did touch my bottom fishing gear..that was a plus!

I was happy that I stopped by the lake a few times to look around and saw you out there in the distance with splashing around you. I was hoping it was just birds(just kidding!)Then later stopped by after lunch and was lucky to catch you before you left and hear your story of the amazing day you had.
I will never harass you for Finesse fishing as you proved time and time again, it works for you.

PS-it was “Lake McFish” today for sure.

Yes sir take it out on them Murray bass great catches

Congrats on a great day. I caught my first trout out of Murray on the then fishing dock 2 1/4 lbs in the 60's on a velveeta ball.

I remember those days using velveeta but I used to use those tiny marshmallows on a treble hook
and catch trout back then also. Did not stay on your hook long but they worked!

All I can think about after nearly 40 Bass is Thumb Cramps. It’s a “good pain”.
