7/16- SD River "Oh Yeah"

Haven't fished the SD river since June 23 and figured I would do a quick morning session and take off before it gets too hot.
So much for early start as I finally got there around 7:15. In my past reports you will see that I do not get a lot of bites
down there. So when I miss a bite or a bass comes unbuttoned I talk about because you do not get that many opportunities.
Anyway, this time I was pretty darn lucky as I got 4 bites and landed all four bass. And a few healthy ones with a 5.25lb
bass, a 4.50lb bass, and 3.75lb bass. Had a lot of fun as the bass fight pretty darn hard at the river.

Lucky sometimes more than others, but I really enjoy all of your posts you put in as you have really nailed some very nice healthy bass. Heck, besides admiring the bass in the pics , I look at any baits attached to see what I may not have and think that guy @Fishtricks really knows his s*** as I would probably not be able to catch things on those baits.....especially the quality bass you have shared with all of us.
Tight lines always :-)

The lure of the past comes back to life. Heck I had about a hundred of the buggers(probably more) in my garage that haven't touched water since the 80's...ha ha. Now the Junebug colored ones I started buying last year as they often produced bass but not always ..ha ha

Nice Bag O Bass!

How much tackle do we have and keep buying? I know it's a ton. The crazy part is I keep going back to the same baits, only utilizing less than 5% of what I have. That's being conservative =/

Fish #2 looks like it healed from a nice injury in the past.

I have caught bass there that have definitely been caught before with battle injuries around the mouth.
All I know is most of them are pretty tough as despite their injuries, they are still eating.
It is funny that some of the bass there are really dark and others a lighter yellowish green color.
The ones deep in cover probably adapt to their environment and are darker I guess.
