Bad day....good day!

After reading Mr. Vinny's glowing report on Miramar yesterday, guess where I went today...yep, Murray! It started out good with a couple topwater fish, but within 10 minutes they were gone! I heard that the day before the busters were at the other end of the lake, so I kicked all the way across the lake only to find nothing happening! I worked my way along the shoreline picking up small clones along the way but couldnt find any better fish on my normally reliable spots. Around noon, I figured it just wasn't happening today and I would call it a day with 12 Vinny size clones! Ok...one more cast, throwing a light carolina rig with a 4" Robo along a drop off, watched my line move off deep and set the hook! The fish immediately jumped and then went deep, wrapping itself in the weed beds. I waited it out and finally got it to the net..8.2 lbs..and made the whole day worthwhile!

What a great way to end the day. Glad you
made that last cast and wow was it worth it! That was a heck of a nice bass and I bet when it jumped I bet you were shaking or praying it would not come off as any fisherman seeing a bass that big jump. Anyway…Congratulations on landing that beast and tight lines always buddy. :-)

Lunch is on me anytime you catch a bass like that. Glad I stopped by the lake again....you were not as happy in the am when I was talking to you and you only picked up some small bass and there was no busting fish. When you sent me a pic of that fat bass I had to come back to chat with you all about it.

Sadly, I won’t be able to follow you around because you’ve been banned from the Lake somehow again. :-(
