What’s up everyone,

I’m getting my first float in the next week or so. My buddy and I are going to Barrett but I’m new to tubing and was wondering what other lakes are recommended?

I’m willing to venture out of SD as well. Thanks!

All of them that allow it. My favorites are Otay, El Cap, Murray, and Hodges... Aside from Barrett which is a given loo

The ones you have to walk in camo through spiderwebs and brush in pitch black without ever shining a light all night long.

What he said.
Both bays can be a lot of fun on a float tube, once you figure out the tides..as far as being able to get back to your launch spot. Catching spotted bay bass can be stupid-easy, and you might get into a dozen other species.
And at this time of year, you can tube Mariner's Basin in Mission Bay to get comfortable on your tube; the water's warming up so you won't even need to wear waders.

Once you go to Barrett, no other lake will come close.
