It's a stupid thing to do. I guess we aren't a demographic that they care about. If I could vote in San Diego, I'd be sure to vote against every one of them.

I wonder if the profit margin for Wednesdays during the hot months no longer are acceptable enough to keep it open during that time.
I thought I read here that Wednesdays during those months you can practically walk in and get a ticket at the gate.

Maybe the tube/kayak tix. The boats have always sold out before the actual event day. Now during those hotter months the boaters often bail early which leaves boats available for the walk-in’s to take over. I used to be a Wednesday guy until my fishing buddies all went and got regular jobs…the horror!
And this brilliant move is being placed on all the city lakes regardless of location, heat, popularity, etc. They are also removing fire rings at the beach and bay to save money. Basically ending the services that have the least vocal and influential users in favor of political priorities. Local leadership needs to change.

Closing on Wednesday’s will save the county a whole $200 a week, what a joke.
Maybe the savings will go towards maintaining beach fire pits and bathrooms at Balboa Park…oh wait.

Ouch. I wanted to try to get a boat to take my dad & 2 boys out later in the season, but I don’t think I can justify that price, especially when a buddy has a bass boat…

Politics and fishing go hand in hand but we can’t talk about politics…woops. The majority got what they voted for. LMAO. Better think twice when going to the box and not circle that bubble based off emotions.

There's another post on this site that says access will stay the same as FY2025. Does that mean Wednesday will come back?

Think that FY2025 was outdated and TommyP mentioned that the city has cancelled all Wednesday’s till further notice.
