I fished south of Crystal pier this morning from around 8-10. Tide was very low and rising quickly, holes and guts moved around and current was switching. Sand crabs plentiful all along the beach, two scoops with my colander got me all I wanted, mostly soft shells and a couple with roe. Waves were choppy and there’s still power out there. It was cloudy, slight mist for a minute, looked like more rain offshore. Water 65 or better. Lots of grass and clumps of salad but it was manageable. I caught 9 small BSP, none longer than about 8 inches.
I had time to observe the tide rising over lots of sand flats covered in sand crab beds. I didn’t see any corbina in the shallows. Another fisherman reported a sting ray in the shallows.

Chris… I probably watched you fish while packing up to leave the pier.. I saw a fisherman or two this am… The surf looked a little calmer this am than the last couple of days… I’ll vouch for the rays.. I’ve kicked up a bunch in the last week… Glad you got your perch…
