El Cap 5/25

Had a really fun day today out there. Not many boats and the fish are chewing! It’s really sad that it’s going to be shut down soon!

Put 14 bass and an ambitious bluegill in the boat today. All but one on power fishing techniques. Finally got my first Neko Rig fish which was nice.

Gunfish, crankbaits, and flukes did all of the work except for one fish. Lost a couple nice crankbait fish at the boat.

Best 5 went just under 14lbs with a big fish of 4.2. If it’s the last time fishing there for a while, at least I went out with a good trip!

Nice job out there @Moose. Looks like you had fun which is good. So sad if it is the last time for
a while with the lake lowering daily. Thanks for sharing a report with all of us and look forward to some San V posts some where down the road which are always fun. Tight lines always. :-)

Appreciate the report…Heading out in the am. Have jigs and plastics as part of the plan with some reaction/chase. Seems like a few of the lakes have switched to the latter now that the spawn is done and the fish are hangry!! 👍🤞

Surprisingly I actually came across several bed fish and a couple of pairs still rubbing and getting ready to spawn.

Topwater first thing around the rocks!

Rumor is They stopped taking water from cap. The San Diego bass fishing podcast is very informative when it comes to many things but when it comes to the friends of the lakes fight to keep what little we have left- he’s got a lot of info that we aren’t “in the know” about. If you guys have a chance check out his youtube channel.

They may have stopped but its close to end of ramp now and with warmer weather comes evaporation to further make it drop and they sure wont put water in.

It’s going to suck whenever it closes down but it would be awesome to get a couple more weeks out of it at least.

Great Job! That crank is very similar to the one we have been doing well with.
