Annual trip with my buddy who I introduced to Barrett 3 years ago. Got to the gate at 0400, on the water at 0500, first fish around 0600 (pedaled around a bit up into Pine). We stayed in Pine all day, not much traffic which was great. Got em on the jigs (duh), drop-shot (duh), some nice ones back in the stickups on wacky Senkos (new to me, boring but productive), and I even was getting blows up on the plopper pretty much all day. A couple nicer ones stuck, including a 3.00 lber who grabbed it right at the boat.
Had a heart break in the stickups, fishing the drop shot on 6# and microbraid and a trout reel before switching to Senkos. Hooked a nicer one but didn’t feel huge and then a legit 6-7 lber jumped, scared the crap out me, and wrapped me up in a tree and broke me off. Woof. I did get a 4.79 later on the tree going up the east Pine back arm.
Awesome day, weather much nicer than expected, not too windy, pedaled around a lot and explored and had a few cold ones. We hooked fish throughout the day, no real lulls. Freaking love this place.

Thanks for the report. That's what I see heading to the lake. We had a bunch of skinny fish.
