Nice. Great numbers for your first time there. Even if they are small, no complaints. No bullheads on the plastics? Usually you get a few bycatches on the cats up there. The big ones are there. The bigger baits entice the bigger bites. Especially with stained water

Come on let us know when you won the lottery so you’re able to fish so often? Just kidding you of course but I wanted to say that’s a pretty good day out there at Morena even if most of them were small. Had lots of great bass fishing days in the 80s and 90s out there and know that things have changed a lot from back then. Recently it’s either a hit or miss when you go out there and it sounds like you got it on a good day.
Thanks for the report and tight lines always:-)

Thanks for the report, I have been wondering if that lake is any good lately and what the water levels were like. Must have been pretty toasty up there this weekend but at least the fish didn't care and you were able to keep catching. If they still stock that lake with trout there has to be some big ones roaming around

For me Lake Morena has always been a under 2 pound or over 5 pound lake, dating back to the late 80s. Not a lot of in between. I wish it had more water in it. Such beautiful shoreline at that lake.
Nice work getting up there and getting them!

How about Sinko, since they have so much salt in them and sink like a rock. =D

That was and is a special lake. I’ve been fishing there for over 35 years. Back in the day, they didn’t care when you got on the water, we used to launch our tubes at 4am on the remote side by goat island. It could be almost every cast on an old hula popper in the dark. They definitely have some oxygen issues up there. Last time I was there, in the morning, there were cats, crappie and bass all lethargic with their noses out of the water all over the lake- no bites. Wind started blowing and they dipped down, next hour the bite turned on. I never did get the full scoop on the aerator down by the damn but something is definitely up. Morena has been having ground water hazardous issues too which could be related.
