Double Digit Bass! 2 Bites, 2 Big fish

Hey all,
It was a fun day at Lake Poway. I only fished for a couple of hours and only got 2 bites. Fortunately, the fish were 10.22lbs and 7.52lbs! So. Much. Fun! It's been a few years since I got a DD and the feeling never gets old. Both were bed fish that I caught on jigs. I have a feeling this week will be fun too! Cheers!

So just FYI, I took down the video from Youtube. I didn't realize at the time or when I posted that there are no longer boats allowed in Hidden Bay. It hasn't always been like that and the sign is in the middle of the bay and I was so focused on looking for fish I didn't see it. I am a rule follower by nature and it didn't even occur to me that I had passed into a "No Boat" area. I've fished that bay for decades and just went on instinct. I got lots of negative comments and fully admit that I made a mistake. My apologies.

I just watched the video last night, glad I caught it before it got taken down, those were HUGE! I've only fished Poway once, on a rental boat, and got skunked. I know the fish are there, I just need to find them and what they want.

Now the disguise makes sense…the different hat LOL. Seriously, anybody that knows you will know it was an honest mistake. Carry on and don’t sweat it.

Geez.....Years ago the only place you could not fish was near the boat dock and the buoy line kept you away from the dam.
No worries Chris as it is sad that you had to take the video down over something so petty. Bottomline, you still caught 2 amazing
bass and that is what counts. Tight lines always buddy.

It’s not even that you can’t fish in Hidden Bay, you just can’t bring boats into it any longer. Not sure what’s up with that.

It’s like going to Bass Pro Shops and looking at the tank there. I saw one easily over 15lbs last week. She was just cruising the shore.

Chris, nobody in their right mind will question your integrity. It sucks you had to take down the video though. Beautiful fish!

The last time I fished Lake Poway was many years ago. There was a No Fishing sign at the boat dock and the water was very clear. Right below the sign were about 10 catfish 5lbs and up.
Something about those No Fishing signs attracts fish.

Nice fish. My guess is the sign was put there to address the crowding during trout season. 20 guys in a tiny cove all throwing mini jigs at the same fish, then one guy in a boat parks there and screws it up for them. I gave up trout fishing a decade ago, I don’t want to compete against mini jiggers for stock trout.

Congrats on the two beasts! I'd rather have 2 big fish like that, than catch dinks all day.
