Clone Time!

The Clones are here...that time of the year! I got to the lake in the dark and drizzle, wondering if it was a good idea....it was! Fun day, brought 21 to the tube and didn't lose any big fish, contrary to the last couple weeks! But I also didn't hook any larger fish this trip..bummer, unless you count the 10lb kitty that sucked up my crawbait! I got most of my early fish on jerkbaits and then switched over to crawbaits for the majority of fish. The fish were mostly 1 to 3lb, no doubt males hanging out in 4'-8' of water. I tried for the deep bite, but it wasn't happening for me. I haven't decided if the bigger females are waiting offshore to spawn, or if they're post spawn sitting out deep? This lake is normally a month behind the rest. A nice day once the clouds broke up some!

There’s a party going on at that point in the background!

I’m glad you broke away from the Crappie boys
and now fish for bass. Nice job out there @Mcfish. Thanks for sharing your fishing adventure at the lake out in the middle of nowhere. You did well young grasshopper.

Caught some of the same but lost a couple of bigger models. One broke a hook on my LC jerkbait! Was not happy about that.
Shoulder VERY sore today! Not sure why! Oh, I mean from setting the hook so many times! Yeah, that's it! My wife says it is old age!
