Fished the incoming tide out in La Jolla last Thursday. Ton of boats out - but the mackerel outnumbered the boats 10,000:1. Caught a few but waiting for the water to get warmer. Anyone else got out there lately? Used a sardine colored HookUp and some JigPara jigs - wished I had a mack colored jigpara - probably would have killed.

Also check out the quick video from this trip - I'm still learning Salt Water here... Northeast transplant on year 3...

I was out on sunday in the yaks with my buddy. Dead around low tide in the am. Macks came to the surface around 10 and we trolled them around for nada. On our way in around noon cudas and calico came to the surface. Lost a few baits to seals and cudas. Last bait out was a 16in mack and I had a blistering bite and run but not hookup. I don't think the yellow could take it down as the bait came back dead with a crushed head and no teeth marks. I suppose given the size of the bait, I should have given it more time. I assume it was a yellow based on the speed and crushed head and no teeth marks at least.
