After having fished both days last weekend, I thought I might take Monday off, but with rain in the forecast this week I thought what the heck right? Well, I just narrowly avoided the skunk at Murray. I only landed one, but she was a little football.
It's been a feast or famine start of the year for me. One day I'll think I have the patterns dialed in, then the weather changes and poof...back to the drawing board. Fishing is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you'll get lol

I was there yesterday also doing my thing with my 1wt flyrod. Did well until 10am. It shut off completely. It does that a lot there during the summer but not this time of year. Very frustrating. Glad you avoided the skunk.

I had the same deal at Cap Monday evening. Got one clone sized male about 3:55pm and not a bite after that. Was happy not to get the skunk but I expected 3 days before a full moon with the storm on the way they’d be chewing. They weren’t in the part of the lake I was fishing.

I think the fluctuating temps have a lot to do with it. They were moving up shallow when the water was getting pretty warm, then the weather turned and the water temps cooled.
