Late start to making a fishing decision combined with 8 West & 15 North traffic, I finally was ready to launched my kayak this morning around 8:30 up at Lake Miramar. Tossed some swim baits for a while and then wasted a lot of fish time going way down to the end of the lake to Escondido arm for one dink. Then ventured all the way back to areas I usually fish and it was amazing how much time was flying by. Don't like late afternoon traffic so my time on the water usually ends after lunch a little. I rushed a lot of casts towards the tulles and then finally slowed down a little and started to pick up some dinks on the edge of the tulles on plastic worms and creature baits. I wished I had not wasted time going to the end of the lake and fished more slowly in some of my favorite areas. Probably would have landed more bass. Anyway, besides having 3 bass come unbuttoned I managed to land 8 bass this morning.....most of them were pretty small. Still, it was nice to get up to Miramar again and can't wait till summer to hit it more often.

Despite their size, bass here suck down your bait quickly here and some
suffered a few scars when I set the hook(translation: small bass are hungry)

No… I carefully washed off the blood and
told the bass to eat more slowly or the next
time he might not be as lucky and released him. :-)
