3/4- Deep and Shallow

With rain in the forecast the next 3 days, I decided to get a little fishing in this morning. Was trying to make a decision to fish mostly
shallow or maybe just deep.....so I fished both. I mixed it up in deep water with blades and spoons and despite not finding the huge
schools of shad like in pervious trips, I picked up some bass. Then in shallow water flipped plastic worms, creature and crawbaits and
then went to 6" Texas rigged worms. Picked up some bass there, but most were pretty small. Still it was fun getting back on the water
and a lot better than staying home and on my computer ordering more tackle from Tackle Warehouse and wishing I went fishing...ha ha.
A few pics....
Pretty sure that
@Mcfish has caught this guy
and his small buddies on his last trip to Murray.

Nice specimens! It's always good to get out during the week.

Thanks.
I very seldom fish on a weekend, as that is one advantage of being retired. If I do ever fish on a weekend, I try to go on a Sunday as it always seems to be far less crowded than on a Saturday. Tight lines.

I hear ya! A lot of our guys fishing our club are retired, and they vow never to fish during the weekend, and come summer, I can see why.

Is this the famous pre spawn bite I read about? When does spawn start?

While there are some bass in shallow water as part of a pre-spawn, I think it will be a few more weeks before it is
more of a full swing. Each lake is a little different but some warm weather can help speed things up a little.

Always nice chatting with you and I like your new truck. Your float tube fits nicely in there
and like you mentioned...better mileage is always a plus.

Yeah that is good news that many bass have moved in, but still think some of the bigger ones are nearby and still staging.
Even a little warming trend and things will even get better. Tight lines buddy.
