So....I have been following the open water south, as I have no desire to go ice fishing. Most days are sub freezing, but fishing is doable, as long as a stiff breeze doesn't come up. I have been out on most of the weekends in January and February so far, along with my trusty fishing pardner and videographer, Kim, as we work our way south out of Wyoming and into Utah, covering fishable water. No big fish have been present, but we had great success on smaller specimens, using tiny spoons and plastics.
My usual spot has long been covered in ice.
Yeah, Kim gets 'em too.

Beautiful pics and fish!
It is warm here in San Diego, but had to drink a hot cup of coffee seeing how cold it looked in your pics...ha ha
Looks like you are having a blast which is always fun, especially with some of those beauties you are catching.
Thanks so much for sharing and Best Wishes and Tight Lines always!

Lots of fight in those cold fish and those videos were fun to watch.
Watching you finesse that one fish up slowly was tense. I know if I did that it would somehow flop up and down and come off and slide back in the water.

Beautiful fish… Hard to fathom that cold, when it’s 80 degrees here….

We work with what we got up here, but I often day dream of chasing the green fish on the warm waters, and the sunny skies of home sweet home.
