cardiff croaker

Long time lurker, first time poster. Recently got into surf fishing as the tuna season is too far away and im antsy. First croaker ever, hit a strip of sand crab fishbites just after low tide. I'm hooked...

Holy smack... not just a "croaker" but a "spotfin croaker!" Way to go on a nice off-season catch.

Holy crap what a fun fish to catch in the surf and probably my favorite. They taste IMO better than halibut when cooked right and their fight is definately better.
