The Captain 1/14

I woke to a text yesterday from @VinnyBass reminding me that it was the second Tuesday of the month and Murray was closed. Lucky thing too or that's inevitably where I would have headed. I pivoted and decided to head to El Capitan instead.

I dropped the boys off at school in La Mesa and headed for Lakeside, with a quick stop at ECBT, because after all, it was on the way! I was on the water by 8am. I launched at the ramp and it was pretty nice out. I picked up a couple of clones along the bank with a plan of rounding the point and heading for the dam buoy line area.

I got 3/4 of the way to the line when the wind decided to show up. Within a few minutes it was really blowing. Even the bass boats were porpoising over white capped waves. I was being tossed around pretty good in my tube. The Bixpy motor really saved my broad butt, helping me get to a position where the wind would help push me back to the ramp.

Anyway I only caught a few clones before the wind literally forced me off the water around noon, but never the less, it was good to get back on The Cap again.

Thanks @VinnyBass , and hope to see some of you at Murray today or tomorrow.

Great job getting out on the water, even if there was a lot of wind. I’ve been in that situation plenty of times and fishing from a tube in whitecaps is like fishing in a washing machine. At least you got a few fish! Thanks for the update.

How in the heck can autocorrect change Lakeside to LA? For the record, it seems about as far away as LA sometimes ....
