Ima try this petite treat on a short dropshot rig next weekend because it's too pretty to hang on a jighead...
Also got a grub mold and made some shrimp colored units. For scale, right is a Yamamoto 4 in. grub, and left is Gotfish's cow manure special (may be a 3 in from Lockett Lures).
**edit**there is a particular alchemy that results in the grub having yellow on one side and orange on the other side of the tail. ...the visual is insane when it's swimming....haven't sorted it out how to achieve it consistently.... yet.
Will probably have to mess around with different plastic hardness so the spotties don't shred it too fast. As if.
Gettin' shrimpy wid it...

That shrimp is money for sure, I’m a big fan on twist tails, how about a mix of the top shrimp with a twist tail?
You really have the soft baits down, I’d like to get my hands a some of your Scorcherz, let me know if I can purchase some of your designs?

Yes, the one on the left is from Lockett. If match the hatch is true, those fish have a really disgusting diet.
The extra bulky body is nice, it means they won't split on jig heads that have the molded lead keeper. I suspect a lot of curly tail grubs sold have a skinny body just to reduce cost.
A curly tail grub on a jig head is an old lure but many times it is the best lure for Spotties. Just drag it across the bottom slowly with plenty of pauses. Pretend you are teasing a house cat with a toy mouse on a string.

Oh, Vito...look what you made me do. Found this.... BassTackle has a 2 and 3 inch mold. However, my fishing budget's blown for the next few....decades. Gotta pay my Black Friday dues for a while.vito1023 wrote: Mon Dec 09, 2024 5:40 am That shrimp is money for sure, I’m a big fan on twist tails, how about a mix of the top shrimp with a twist tail?
