A bit early I realize but what is your favorite bait of 2024 so far? For any reason: numbers, size, a new bait, fun to use, etcetera.

For me, it has been the Ned rig with weedless Z-man head and a TPE tail (Elaztech or Crush City). It's quite weedless, very durable and fish definitely go for it. I have been mostly using the 1/5 ounce heads on baitcasting gear. Both spotties and largemouth bass eat it up.

Black Friday is coming up so inquiring minds need to know.

Just ordered a few more of Ned Senko and 3” 4” Yama Craw (same floating formulae as Ned Senko). I normally use 1/16oz head but got the 4” one for 1/10 Zman shroom weedless head or free rig.

Square bill: I've used it more this year. The hits are hard! A "running the bank" pattern on any moving bait lure is always fun.

Saltwater jerk bait is more of a theory, but I got pretty nuts buying it. I need to go out more after local/surf fish. I caught just short of legal halibut on my first try, though.

I sold all irons, flat falls, etc. I am done with that, mainly because I get seasick or the medication experience is almost as bad. I kept Krocs and other hard baits reasonable for coastal use; again, I need to go out more!

Have you tried prescription scopolamine patches? Those work best of all. Don't waste your money on non-prescription all natural patches, regardless of the positive Amazon reviews.

I get seasick easily on the open ocean (not in the bay although some people even get nauseous there). I have even had one patch, 2 Dramamine pills and 2 Bonine pills followed by 2 beers; at that point I am mellowed out and ready to fish. Others would be passed out on deck (definitely against all the warnings on the packages). With all the medications (except beer), they work best taken 2-3 hours before reaching open ocean.

In a pinch, Benadryl works as a motion sickness medicine too.

Scopolamine definitely helps avoid seasickness. It makes me feel horrible, and I see spots. My overall concentration is off enough driving that taking it a few hours before driving to launch and driving home feels a bit risky. Overall, it could be better, but I am not encouraged to keep using it. Thanks for the thought, though!

Texas rigged Mad Wag Slim in the 4.5 size, green pumpkin. I bought all of TackleWarehouse's stock.

I've had good results this year on a power shot.

For the last several years, I would put down the Tokyo rig, but this year just Texas rigged baits with a sinker stop.
I never used a sinker stop with a Texas rig before, but now rig it that way with creature, crawbait or plastic worms.

How does the size of the Vision 110 Jr (not the +1) compare to the JDM Vision 95? Is it only the 3rd treble hook? Size? Weight? Action?

I'm always curious because as the Vision 110 was a mainstay in the bass fishing world, I preferred the 95 simply because of the smaller size. When I saw that Megabass came out with the 110 Jr, I was curious to see what the differences were between their original 95, which I see is now also offered in the US.

This is a 5 inch ZMan Streakz. Along with a Gamakatzu light wire 4/0 Hook, skip casted way back under cover on 30 Braid. It floats. Of the 11 Bass I caught between 7-9 pounds this year , I landed 9 on this.

Definitely the Strike King Bitsy Bug Jig with the Berkley Craw Fatty trailer. It's been money all year.

Pricey for a soft plastic. What makes it that much different from a fluke besides the scales?

I’m fishing it on a ball head and hover strolling with it. For that specific technique, the fish roller for me just gets bit better than any of the other ones. It’s got the perfect body roll action.

I have used these a few times, but only the ones sold at Walmart. They have always been 1/4 ounce and white plus another natural color only. Your post led me to find them at Tackle Warehouse and Bass Pro shops in many different weights and colors. That's a good way to go!
The CrawFatty trailer looks big on it. But the fish could find the substantial hook even with that, and with the 1/16 and 1/8 jigs, the fall rate and buoyancy would be great.

Like with many jigs, the skirts don't hold up in storage. So, I may stock up next spring.
