Im new to the kayak world and was looking at kayak anchors. I will.be running a nucanoe unlimited with bow mount.xi3 and rear rudder.
Is an anchor a must?
Not sure how well or much I'll be using the spot lock feature. I've seen the power poles for the kayak but am wondering if an 8-0 pole would be long enough in some cases.
I've been looking at the anchor wizard and chute as well as the yakattack sidewinder.
Can anyone share there thoughts/recommendations please? Thank you.

I have the Xi3 and a pedal drive, so I don't run an anchor.

With your setup, I'd recommend adding an anchor and anchor trolley. I ran them with my paddle kayaks in the past, and if you're not sure you'll always be using your Xi3, I'd consider it a must have. You can get the whole setup ( trolley, anchor, and dive reel ) for less than the cost of an anchor wizard.

Power pole would be a waste of money for most of our reservoirs (IMO), due to depth. If you fish a lot of skinny water, It'd be a whole lot cheaper to just pick up an 8' stake out pole.

Anchor doesn’t take much space or weight. Small folding one will do. May never use it but in an emergency situation, it’s nice to have. Make sure to have a small length of chain between anchor and rope. 2-3’
