Barrett Bass Fishing: The Fish Are Stacked!

So I went back to Barrett…

This report(video) was from the hottest day of the year. I decided to head out just for a couple of hours before the furnace ignited. I got out on the water with only 1 other car at Pigs. I headed straight for my most recent productive area that if you watch the video is not a secret. I decided to forgo the topwater and get straight to my bread and butter, the jig. I LOVE FISHING JIGS!!!! Not sure why but I just do. So my first bite was at 5:50am (lost that one). Then 5:51, then 5:53 and so on. The bite was basically nonstop for the first hour I was out there. I didn’t put in all the missed hits or ones that just came off. By 6:41 I had 10 landed with more than that missed. I raced the sun to get as many as I could prior to it cresting the mountains.

I did get one on a new color crank Rapala DT-16 in the chartreuse and brown color and my first wake bait fish ever! It was a super fun morning that I wish every fishing day could be. I was off the water before 10 with a happy soul. I ended up getting 10 fish around 3lbs and a bunch of others.

Not many things help me clear my mind like fishing (I’m pretty sure you guys get that) anyway I was able to face the day ahead after.

I do have 1 more Barrett video ready to go after this one but I was actually contemplating waiting until winter to release that when the fishing has slowed down. (When we are all jonesing for some Barrett) Not sure yet though. Any thoughts on that?

It’s been a super fun year out there and I’m excited for next year. Check out the video for more details.

Pourboy,
That is one excellent video, perfectly framed.
Thanks for sharing.
Especially fond of your early Pink Floyd reference.
I'm pretty sure Syd Barrett played on that album. Barrett on Barrett.

You love fishing jigs because you are amazing at it. Or, probably more correct you worked hard to learn them and become amazing at them. I think your feel of the structure might be better than panoptix. :)

Thanks so much! I believe in the video I said that the fish were distracting me from talking with my wife. She is absolutely amazing and when I get stressed she tells me to go fishing. I could not ask for more. Cheers!

Thanks so much. Not sure if my braille method is better than modern technology but I sure like it more. Cheers!

Thanks for taking the time to check it out. The only place I can find the Bleeding Craw Bitsy Bug is Walmart. Here’s the link.

Those I usually just go into the store to buy. It’s one of the few colors they do have there.

Also I went on the Strike King website and they only had limited colors. That color was not one of them. Maybe they are getting ready to discontinue and go all to tungsten. Not sure.

Great video.
I've watched several of them and just realized that you're a lefty, but you use a "righty" reel.
I'm kinda the opposite...I cast with my right hand, and crank with my left.
Oh...and one more difference....you catch a buttload of fish!
have fun

CK

HA! I've always casted with my left and reeled with my right. And yes, I am very much a lefty! Thanks for checking out the video!
