I'm sure some of you have heard about the fish kill that happened mid August on the East Walker River but if not here's a link to the WON article https://wonews.com/fish-die-off-strikes ... ker-river/
Thankfully it seemed to only affected the Miracle Mile and upper sections of the river. Fish reports for the Nevada side had been good and with the flows dropping to an ideal 125cfs I decided to make a trip up there this past week. Fishing was excellent throughout the Nevada side of the East Walker with 20+ fish most days and some really nice Brown and Rainbow trout. Dry Dropper and Euro Nymph accounted for 95% of my fish although I did get a few on big foam dries and streamers. Dead Drift Crayfish, Hot Spot Pheasant Tail, and Hare's Ear did most of the damage. Good to see the East Walker River still going strong!
