9/11-Return to home lake

Haven been to Murray in 2 weeks and decided to give it a go since the weather finally eased up a little. Bass were up and
down quickly and mainly concentrating on eating shad. Picked up a couple clones on spoons and then started tossing a small
jerk bait, then a super fluke.
After a bit, I thought I would try something I used to do years ago. I rigged a small paddle tail fluke and started working it.
I remember some days at Murray where all I did was use that rig and it was quite effective. At first, I ended up having a number
of bass hit it, roll over it and then boned a number of hook sets. Then I started reeling it back pretty fast skimming the surface
and started picking up some bass. It was pretty exciting to see how suddenly the water would explode and amazed how quickly
those bass were to catch up to it. Anyway.....most of the bass today were clones but really have been putting up a good fight.
Heck I think I missed at least a half a dozen but was able to land 9 of those aggressive little buggers.
It seemed like I caught more....I guess from having a number of bass on the line and then come unbuttoned..ha ha
Anyway....still had a fun time catching some bass and to be out on the water again. The big plus was that the weather
was a lot nicer than it had been. Hopefully the weather that feels like you are going to melt is gone...ha ha. :-)

My last trip to Murray I threw so many different reaction baits and it was interesting. This morning I did not go as crazy and
glad I got some bass action on an old favorite. The big question now is when will I put a small paddle tail fluke on again...ha ha :-)

Are you running just a straight swimbait or does that fluke have a swimbait tail on it?
Nice work out there!

It is a smaller Zoom fluke that has a paddle tail.

The Super Zoom flukes(pic below) that most people throw have a v tail and are bigger.

The super fluke is on the left and the paddle tail fluke in on the right

I just rig it like this...
