The sport boat jig strike sinks at the Cortez bank 100 miles offshore, there were 17 passengers aboard, everyone is safe. There was another sportboat in the area, and responded to there distress call.
Thank God everyone was rescued.
The bluefin bite is solid right now.

Tight lines

Damn. Scary stuff. I wonder what they hit. I know someone off costa who hit a cargo container that fell off a ship that had just enough buoyancy to be right beneath the surface. I also know of some boats hitting whales but if the bow broke, had to be something hard.

I'm glad to hear everyone is safe after the jig strike at Cortez Bank! It’s always reassuring to know that there was another boat nearby to help with the rescue. The bluefin bite being solid right now is a great bonus—perfect time to get out there and enjoy some good fishing!

Tight lines indeed, and here's to filling those coolers! 🎣
