8/28-Mixing it up

Yeah, I know you guys are tired of my Lake Murray reports, but I tried to make it a little more interesting.
I decided to first try to catch a few bass on hard topwater baits. I put on a little Zara Puppy(Spook) since @Dannicus, @CorsoEnthusiast and a few others said to throw smaller baits. I realized that my small poppers were left in the garage so I made the best of the only thing I had that was small. The fish were small, but was able to land 3 bass on the Zara Puppy after some missed blow-ups.. Then I landed another topwater bass only this time on a Sammy. Two different topwater baits worked,
so this will sound strange, but I then decided to throw a mixture of reaction baits other than topwater, to see if I could land a bass on each
of them. It was challenging as I changed baits pretty often, and landed bass on 2 different sizes of flukes(super fluke and paddle tail fluke). Then used a small jerk bait which was a dink magnet..ha ha I also caught bass on a couple different spoons, and finally landed one on a Damiki Vault(blade). Unfortunately I tried and tried to land one on a Hover rig/Basstrix, but I lost 2. I honestly lost count as the clones were on the chew but caught at least a dozen of more this morning. And even though most of the bass were small, it was a fun time again on the water and only a couple other boats out......which is really hard to believe. :-)

Not tired to the Murray reports. Keep them coming!
I like the gun fish for down sizing the top hard baits. I think it's the 75mm. I know bait makers are going much smaller now, but I'm out of the loop=)

Don't buy anything.....as in a month all of the stuff won't work and will be sitting back in tackle boxes left in my garage
for years like that Damiki blade....ha ha
Later I will probably sell a lot of it on Offer UP for cheap...ha ha. I can't seem to sell anything on SDFish anymore and on Offer-Up I have sold rods, a kayak, parts to a Hobie kayak etc etc etc and other fishing tackle.

It’s funny because years ago I would throw larger Sammy’s and they caught fish and then later went to little bit smaller ones. Then I went to an a skimmer, which is long and skinny and had great results. I don’t have a great selection of small top water baits, but I did find some little poppers and a few other small topwater baits today when I was searching around my garage. I will have to test them out on my next trip.
Tight lines

Do not try to keep up with Vinny's lure collection...soon your garage would look like a Bass Pro Shop....
