Barrett Report August 18

Hello all,
Another fun day at Barrett. Got there a little later than normal, but still dark. It was actually chilly and I needed a sweatshirt. Water temp dropped a couple degrees also, it was around 76F. Headed over to Becky’s cove and proceeded to not catch anything at all for the first hour and half. I threw the tackle box at them and nothing. Decided to head down to the back of Hauser. Got distracted along the way by the sample size busters. There were a few reasonable fish in the mix, but I moved along. Saw a group of three deer at the waterline, I think it might have been the same group we posted last month.
Got to the side of that big bay in Hauser and finally had good luck with small jerk baits. Big fish of the day was a little over 4 pounds, most fish were around a pound to pound and half, a couple threes and a few twos. I couldn’t really get the busters working, it seems like they are smaller aggressive fish under a pound. Finished up in the back of Hauser. The water level is down a few feet and it’s really a different scene back there, but there’s still a lot of fish to be had. Wind came up around 1000 and by 1130 it was very choppy pedaling back to pigs. Water temp came up to 81. Didn’t notice the air temp, but it was actually pleasant and not too hot.
