Not Great But Still Fishing!

Wish I had a better report but we still brought home ceviche and filet fixins. Hit the kelps just outside the Point and caught two quick checkerboards. Thursday dinner, check 
. The goal was at least 3 more for neighbors but things got pretty quiet at the top of the water column. Hit the Whistler and another hard bottom spot or two but no love. Headed then inside to hunt for legal butts and spotties. There wasn’t much water moving by then as the tide swing was very shallow late morning. That might have been why and we had a slow pick there too. I did nab my first chatterbait spottie though and it’s always fun when a new tactic works (thanks @Fishtricks). By the way, I used a new fish batter from Bass Pro called Uncle Bucks/original flavor. I’m a catch and release guy 99% of the time but when I do eat fish, I will buy this brand again.
