North county bite?
Been fishing grandview, ponto and some other beaches near Encinitas. Throwing a LC 110 and caught one perch the last 5 sessions. Do I suck or is the bite no good right now? Usually fishing at dusk

I don’t have as much experience as a lot of people on here, but ime, lucky crafts are gonna catch halibut and the occasional surf perch. And the surf halibut are probably few and far between outside of May-July. I like to go out, give the lucky craft or swim sit about 30 mins to an hour then switch to sand crabs so I don’t get skunked (hopefully).

The LC will get you some nice fish, but it's a lure of many cast... I'm a C-rig guy with bait, and that'll get you more fish than the LC... I agree with Robertos and would give both a try... I used to walk one way on the beach and use bait, and coming back I would switch up to an LC... Now I pretty much stick with the C-rig and bait (Sand crabs, blood worms or ghost shrimp)...

Concur with Robertos & Midnightpass. I've followed the same M.O. on occasions. The few halibut I've caught with an LC were just before, during or right after a minus low slack . . . calm water, low surf. Some nice perch by catches as well.

Appreciate the feedback. And figured the LC would be more selective. Going to try out sand crabs and sand worms tomorrow early
