Hey so first time going to Barrett saw all boats are sold out so was planning on fishing it from the shoreline. Any Info would be great, got no knowledge of how to fish the lake just been reading the reports on the forums.

Assuming you got a tube/kayak ticket for the day? If so, I do see people bank fishing near the dock as well as fishing the dock itself. Seems like it misses the whole Barrett experience, but people catch some big bass in that area.

Is that the only accessible area, that’s the only area I hear that people fished from the shoreline

Without having a craft of some sort to get to other points, rocks, or beaches, those are all I know of besides hiking in to the back of Pine. Not sure that’s all that doable or worthwhile in this heat either. Can you get your hands on a tube and fins? It could serve you well on your Barrett day and beyond.

During COVID, I tried to shoreline fish at Barrett. The shoreline is basically inacessible due to the brush and steep walls. No trails. Plenty of people fish the dock and I've seen some nice fish caught there. That said, when I got out of the water last Wednesday at around 5pm, a woman fishing on the dock said earlier there were like 30 people fishing the dock. I find that hard to believe on a Wednesday but what reason would she have to tell me that.

After all the yaks and tubers have launched, you can also try shore fishing from Pigs. But also very limited access due to the high water level. Years ago when it was low, there was plenty of shoreline to fish from there. Even found a honey hole there for a fish from every cast once.
