Reaper boy strikes again (report for 7/28)

We got a full 14 hour day in on Sunday. A great day with 46 between us (you know, the same number that some of you catch individually when you haul your fancy kayaks out of the water by 11am).
Theo caught the biggest fish of the day before we left the dock at 5:30am. No scale, but this one was a chunker. We went to Hauser and were greeted with non-stop busters chasing small 1.5" shad. They were everywhere. We had some success with whopper ploppers and crank baits, but I could tell they were only really interested in small shad. We picked up a buddy at the dock at 10am, then went to Pine Cove. Lot's of people, but few fish. Back to Hauser by around noon and I was surprised to see the busters still happening (though to a lesser extent). We even got a double up, but as you can see one of the fish was much much smaller than the other.
Dropped our buddy at the dock at 3:30 and got a close up of these fire helicopters getting water to douse a fire by the border. Went back to Hauser and fished the busters until dark. Super fun, but really mild success compared to the two boats fishing nearby -- it looked like a fish every cast for them.
