Oceanside harbor area fishing

Since the harbor was dredged, I haven't had anything but palm sized perch hookups. In the fall/winter and early spring I was getting a lot of good fish out of there. Does it usually take awhile for things to pick up again after the finish the sand replenishment? I know all the sand gets dumped south of the harbor, I've had some luck at the south side of the pier but not great fishing.

I'm getting the same issue all down the coast in Carlsbad at the moment. Mostly perch. I can't remember a year with a more dead YFC bite. Not sure what caused it...

Finally saw a few beans today in the surf during low tide. Still nothing but dink perch using sand crabs as bait though. Hopefully it's a sign some other stuff is going to start moving in soon though.
