SD Bay 6/21 Epic

My daughter came back from Santa Barbara for the summer. We have been fishing together since before she could walk. She missed Father’s Day and asked if we could hit the bay as a late celebration.Duh!! We grabbed a skiff from
Seaforth and headed out. Started north of the bridge for a steady pick for the 1st 2 hrs. Most fish on drop shot. About noon head south of bridge which is my preferred area. Did a long drift in deep channel for a steady pick again. We had 37 at 2p and I
called an audible. We headed to the green buoy near the bridge and started one of the best drifts I have ever had in 35 years of fishing the bay. It was 1 drift for 2 hrs and 1.7 miles. We caught 50+ fish on the drift, all in 10 feet or less of water. I was able to land the elusive Bonefish on drop shot. Caught them on what ever we threw. Lots of doubles. Ned rig did most of the damage for my daughter and I switched up between drop shot and underspin for my share. With 1 hr of fishing time left, 100 fish was a possibility if we did things right. We moved back up the drift line with help of navionics app. Made another 30 min drift and had 96. Had less than 20 min left to fish so made 1 last move and with in 10 min, fish number 100 came over the rail by daughter on the ned. She caught over 30 fish on 1 single zman trd. lol We added 2 more for a final tally of 102-99 spotties, 1 sand bass, 1 mackerel and 1 BONEFISH. My mom passed away last week so this trip had a little extra emotions involved. Pretty sure some one was looking over us today.
