Floated Tidelands Park this morning from 6:00-9:00 with a steady bite the whole time. Drop shot robo worms on a 6lb ultra light trout setup was all I ended up using. Handful of spotties, yellow fin croaker, a halibut and a chunky Sargo.

I usually fish soft plastics on a jig head and that is more effective on spotties than the drop shot in my experience. But I might try the drop shot with a Gulp bait next time to get the variety.

I’ve been trying out new techniques lately for the bay after almost exclusively using swimbaits on jig heads for many years. I’ve been having more success with the drop shot lately.

A baby brush hog in watermelon red on the drop shot has been crushing the spotties

I'd love to get into some sargo. Haven't caught one in years.
